DOJ Appeals Texas Ruling

On Thursday, March 12, the U.S. Department of Justice filed an emergency motion with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals asking that the administration be allowed to continue the DAPA and expanded DACA programs while the administration appeals the ruling of the Texas District Court judge that temporarily halted the program. Twelve states, along with the District of Columbia, also filed a request with the court to be heard as friends of the court. These states expressed their disagreement with the states that filed the lawsuit, contending that the Deferred Action programs would not harm the economies but, rather, would help the economies of the states.
